Gemstones and birth months: which birthstone belongs to your month?

Earlier we wrote a blog in which we looked at whether gemstones really have a healing effect or not. But did you know that certain gemstones have also been attributed to certain months? Gemstones have been worn for centuries, and through the ages different stones have been linked to specific months: birthstones.

January: Garnet
The lucky ones born in the first month of the year have the Garnet stone as their birthstone. This stone represents purity, happiness and courage.

February: Amethyst
The mysterious Amethyst can be found in our The Power of Gemstones collection . When you wear this stone it gives you protection and spirituality.

March: Aquamarine
The Aquamarine can also be found in our The Power of Gemstones collection . This stone is named after sea water, after the Latin words 'aqua' (water) and 'mare' (sea). The stone represents happiness, balance and peace.

April: Diamond
A diamond is a girl's best friend! The lucky ones who have April as their birth month have the Diamond as their birthstone. Did you know that the diamond is the hardest gemstone in existence?

May: Emerald
With its beautiful green color, the Emerald is a very popular stone, and was therefore a favorite of Cleopatra. This stone brings you patience and wisdom.

June: Pearl
Pearls are found in oysters, but are also increasingly cultivated today. The pearl brings peace and tranquility, stands for wisdom and has a purifying effect.

July: Ruby
This red powerful stone belongs to the month of July, and is seen as a very precious stone. The stone represents passion, motivation and courage, and protects against misfortune.

August: Peridot
This stone looks a bit like the green Emerald, but is slightly more yellow-green in color. The Peridot increases your self-confidence and gives you more physical strength, and is said to slow down the aging process.

September: Sapphire
The dark blue Sapphire stands for wisdom and loyalty, and is said to reduce physical complaints. The Sapphire could also recognize honesty, and therefore lose its luster if the stone is worn by people who are not honest.

October: Rose Quartz
In addition to the February and March stones, you will also find the October birthstone in our The Power of Gemstones collection . The Rose Quartz is also called the stone of love and opens your heart to all types of love that exist.

November: Topaz
The yellow topaz has a calming energy and is therefore said to help against fears. The stone gives warmth and happiness to the people who wear it.

December: Turquoise
Were you born in the last month of the year? Then the blue Turquoise is your birthstone! The Turquoise protects you against the 'evil eye' and is said to bring you wealth. The Turquoise can even change color!
